Story By: STEVEN PETTY / LANCASTER MOTORPLEX – LANCASTER, NY – Lancaster Motorplex management has made the decision to cancel this weekend’s activities at the historic facility due to inclement weather.
“With what the forecast is projecting over the weekend and into much of next week, practice sessions for both the WDRA Drag Racing program and the Stock Car program has been canceled for the weekend,” comments speedway management.
Dragway Test, Tune, and Tech will now take place on Friday, May 5 with the first night of WDRA points now moved to Friday, May 12. “Our goal is to have a safe and well-prepared track and we cannot do that without Mother Nature’s help,” speedway management said.
The 64th Season Opener for the Stock Car program will take place on Saturday, May 6, with pit gates opening at 8:30am, practice getting underway at 11:15am with the first green flag of the season flying over the field at 2:00pm sharp. Grandstand gates will open at noon. The Stock Car program opening day will feature the Monroe Extinguisher Sportsman, Late Models, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders, and the Mighty TQ Midgets.
Pit admission for drivers is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Pit admission for crew members is $40. Grandstand admission is $25, seniors and military members are $20, and kids 12 and under will be admitted FREE.
