Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TKS MOTORSPORTS – MITCHELLVILLE, IA – With Waco, Texas, hotshot Chase Randall getting the call to drive for Paul Silva and Silva Motorsports in the upcoming Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California, Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s Kaleb Johnson, who finished seventh in Huset’s Speedway’s overall championship standings, will officially take the reins of the TKS Motorsports No. 2KS, filling the seat for the upcoming Cyclone Classic at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa, on Friday and Saturday, September 8-9.
Although creating a slight hiccup in their September plans, Troy and Tammy Renfro of TKS Motorsports are excited for Randall’s opportunity, hoping for positive results while the Mitchellville, Iowa-based operation prepares for Johnson’s arrival at Shelby County.
“We are very excited for Chase. This is a great opportunity and I’m sure he will do a great job,” Troy Renfro, owner of the Albaugh – Your Alternative, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, deWit Construction, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, Custom Plumbing Inc, No. 2KS sprint car, said. “We’re excited to have Kaleb Johnson join us on such short notice. He’s also a young kid with a ton of talent and I’m sure he’ll help us achieve great things at the Cyclone Classic.”
TKS Motorsports and Chase Randall will continue their 2023 campaign with an off weekend, followed by Shelby County Speedway’s two-day Cyclone Classic on Friday and Saturday, September 8-9.
