Baker Doors Adds Support To Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek

Story By: JEFF GROMIS / APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN LATE MODEL SPEEDWEEK – SELINSGROVE, PA – The list of supporters of the Selinsgrove Ford Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek continues to grow and six teams have shown their confidence in the series by prepaying their entry fees for all 8 of the Speedweek events in advance.

Baker Door Company of Mechanicsburg will pay $50 to the second and third place finishers in the qualifying races at both Lincoln Speedway and BAPS Motor Speedway. That is $100 to each of a minimum of four qualifying events at these tracks bringing their commitment to $800 or more.

Baker Door is a grassroots American garage door dealer serving communities in and around York, Harrisburg, and Mechanicsburg, taking pride in their 24/7 service availability to their customers and their ‘second to none’ staff of installers and technicians.

The drivers with entries fees already paid for all eight events in advance of the series are Brian Booze of Marion, PA; defending Speedweek champion Tyler Emory of Chaptico, MD; Kody Lyter of Lewistown, PA; Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, PA; Andrew Yoder of Middleburg, PA; and Bryan Bernheisel of Jonestown, PA.

In the 2023 resurrection season for the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek, 97 different drivers participated in at least one of the Speedweek events and 16 were at every track. There was an average car count of 40 cars at each of the races.

This season Appalachian Mountain LM Speedweek 2024 kicks off at the Clinton County Speedway in Mill Hall, PA, on Friday, June 7. Port Royal Speedway is next on the schedule on Saturday, June 8, followed by Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway on Sunday, June 9.

After a night off on Monday, racing moves to Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run, PA, on Tuesday, June 11. Wednesday is the final Speedweek day off and racing gets back underway on Thursday, June 13, at Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway. The deciding final weekend starts at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on Friday night, June 14, moves to Abbottstown’s Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA, on Saturday, June 15, and closes out at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, PA.
