Story By: RYAN DELPH / DENNIS ERB RACING – CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – Dennis Erb Racing invaded the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina from November 6-9 for the 18th edition of the ‘World Finals,’ which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series.
Following time trials on Wednesday, a pair of $15,000 to win preliminary programs were on tap the next two nights. On Thursday evening, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran sixth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twenty-sixth in the 35-lap feature. In Friday’s show, Dennis grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his heat race prior to placing sixteenth in the 35-lapper.
In front of a huge grandstand crowd on Saturday, a hefty $25,000 first place prize was up for grabs in the finale for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. Dennis finished third in his Last Chance Showdown and later received a provisional to gain access into the 50-lap headliner. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace eventually wound up twentieth in the final rundown of the contest and placed ninth in the final version of the national series point standings.
The #28 team will wrap up their 2024 campaign on November 15-16 in a doubleheader at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia. The Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series will preside over the ‘Peach State Classic,’ which starts on Friday night with a $20,000 to win shootout. The weekend and series finale on Saturday evening at Senoia Raceway will then boast a $30,000 payday. Dennis currently finds himself eleventh in the latest version of the miniseries point standings heading into the ‘Peach State Classic.’
