Story By: STEVE WARD / VP RACING FUELS – SAN ANTONIO, TX – VP Racing Fuels, Inc., The World Leader in Fuel Technology®, congratulates Christopher Polvoorde, Brock Heger, and Trystan Hart on their respective victories during the opening weekends of the 2025 OPTIMA® King of the Hammers presented by Ford Performance® off-road race in Johnson Valley, CA.
VP Racing is proud to serve as the Official Fuel of the 2025 King of the Hammers event currently taking place in Johnson Valley, CA. The King of the Hammers is renowned as one of the toughest single-day off-road races on the planet, challenging both man and machine through some of the most treacherous rock and desert terrain in the region.
“King of the Hammers has become a staple in the off-road community, and we are proud to be a small part of this massive event,” says VP Racing Western Regional Manager Mike Emerson. “The best moto, UTV, truck, and Ultra4 racers from around the globe come to Hammertown every year to start their season at one of the hardest events on earth. With rocks the size of RVs and flat-out desert sections, this event tests every single piece of the vehicle, racers, and team.”
The Monster Energy® King of the Motos race weekend kicked off the festivities for this year’s three-week-long King of the Hammers, pitting some of the best off-road moto riders on the planet against each other and the difficult course. After the dust settled from the multiple moto format, Trystan Hart waved the VP checkered flag from the top spot of the podium, claiming his third KOH victory in a row running VP Racing MR Pro 6 fuel.
With the opening weekend of motos complete, it was time to move on to the ultra-competitive UTV desert race. Brock Heger and his Polaris® RZR once again reigned supreme as the overall UTV winner in the Toyo Tires® Desert Challenge, running VP Racing fuel, Stay Frosty® Coolant, and 622 Brake Fluid. Winning KOH is hard enough, but Brock Heger is on one heck of a tear fresh off his Baja 1000 win, 2024 SCORE UTV Championship, and very recent 2025 Dakar Rally Championship.
To cap things off for the opening weekend, Christopher Polvoorde joined the back-to-back club, taking the overall victory in the Toyo Desert Challenge while wheeling his Unlimited Truck powered by VP Racing Late Model Plus Fuel, Pro Grade Engine Oil, Stay Frosty® Performance Coolant, and 622 Brake Fluid.
“It’s been an unbelievable start to the event, and we look forward to the final week of qualifying and races in the rocks. Congrats to all the class winners and finishers so far. Let’s keep the VP domination going!” Emerson added.
