Joel Myers Jr Back in War of the Wings Victory Lane

Story By: JOEL MYERS RACING – NEW ZEALAND – After a lull in his schedule in New Zealand, Joel Myers Jr returned to action in a big way, as he recorded the win on Saturday night at Ruapuna Speedway as he closes in on the series point leader by just 13 markers with two races left on the slate.

“We had a tough go with an engine issue a couple weeks back, and the time off gave us some time to figure some things out,” Joel Myers Jr said. “It was a close call to get everything back in order, but I am thankful we were able to and to win makes it that much more rewarding.”

Checking in at his home away from home on Saturday night, Meyers timed in fifth fastest in qualifications which lined him up in the sixth row of his first heat race of the night.

After taking the green from 11th, the current New Zealand Champion had his elbows up as he carved his way forward. Racing his way through the field, Myers Jr recorded a second place finish and then looked forward to his second heat.

Taking the green from the second row, Myers Jr had a much lighter task at hand to get to the front as he quickly jumped out front and never looked back. Scoring the win, he advanced into the Dash where he lined his The Ranch/Suck It Up/FK Rod Ends backed No. 1NZ up on the front row.

Powering his way to a Dash win, Myers Jr lined up on the front row and continued to have a dominant night. Sharing the front row with Jonathan Allard, ‘Jr’ got the jump as he did in the Dash, and set sail.

Putting forward an extremely strong effort, Myers Jr went on to score his second win of the 2025 calendar year in what was his third race to date.

“We still have some work to do to get better for this weekend, but it was great to get back racing and to grab a win,” Myers Jr said. “Super thankful for my team, and appreciative of all of their efforts.”
