Story By: BEN SHELTON / MATT COSNER RACING – RIDGELEY, WV – Matt Cosner drove his Global Truck Outfitters No. 66c Nelson Auto Sales/ R.H. Lapp Mechanical Contractors/ Rocket Chassis/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first win of 2023 on Friday evening at Pennsylvania’s Bedford Speedway.
“Bedford (Speedway) has always been one of my favorite tracks, and it was good to us on Friday night. We’ve only raced a few times since Speedweeks so it’s nice to get the rust knocked off. We had a great car in the main event, and I’m looking forward to heading to Port Royal (Speedway) this Saturday, where Eddie Carrier Jr. will also be in a team car.”
Matt Cosner made his lone start of the weekend on Friday evening at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) aboard his Global Truck Outfitters No. 66c Late Model.
With an impressive seventh-to-second run in his heat race placing him on the second row for the feature, Matt tracked down race-long pacesetter Justin Weaver on lap 19 and went onto claim his first win of the season and 18th career at the Pennsylvania oval.
He took the checkers 0.652 seconds ahead of Kyle Lee with Drake Troutman, Weaver, and Alex Ferree completing the top-five finishers.
This Saturday will find both Matt Cosner and Eddie Carrier Jr. invading Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway for The Spring Thaw, which posts a $10,000 top prize for the Super Late Model division.
