Westfall Powers Ahead At Bloomington; Arkansas & Texas Swing Highlights Coming Agenda

Story By: TYLER ALMTEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – FOREST, OH – An action-packed USAC National Sprint Cars weekend in the Hoosier State led to some positive results for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports including a persistent display of perseverance in their Bloomington Speedway visit on Friday, April 14. Westfall, the owner of five top-ten finishes thus far in 2023, battled from 17th to finish tenth at the Indiana bullring, overcoming the highest pill and a Semi appearance to do so.

The following evening at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports displayed their relentlessness again, this time battling through the evening’s semi to make the feature program; they would race on to finish 16th.

As noted, Westfall’s top-ten at Bloomington bumps his season total to five. The Pleasant Hill, Ohio, native is currently tenth in the USAC National Sprint Cars standings.

“It was an OK weekend for our team. Racing the semi-features is both good and bad…gives us another look at the track before racing the feature,” Westfall explained. “Hats off to this team…nobody ever gives up and that’s a quality you can’t race without. We’ll head south soon and see what we can do there.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2023 agenda with a USAC National Sprint Cars swing through Arkansas and Texas on Wednesday through Saturday, April 26-29. The team will visit Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Arkansas, on Wednesday, Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, on Thursday, and Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Friday and Saturday.
