Knox Raceway Kicks Off 2023 Circle Track Season With Season Opener Sunday

Story By: PAM BAKER / KNOX RACEWAY – KNOX, PA – Celebrate Mother’s Day in fashion and attend the season opener of the circle track at Knox Raceway by bringing your Mom out on Sunday, May 14th for the first of seven circle track events.

In honor of Mother’s Day, all mother’s will receive a coupon at the gate for a Free Ice Cream compliments of Brian and Brianna Steinman. This special day will feature the FAST 410-Winged Sprint Cars, the 270cc Micro Sprints and the 358 Modifieds. Crate 602 Modifieds will also be welcome to compete with the 358 Modifieds as well.

Gates will open at 2pm. There will be a meet and greet with drivers and their cars behind the grandst gands from 2pm to 3pm. Races will start at 5pm. Grandstand admission is $15 and pit passes will be $30.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, etc. and sit on the hillside or in the bleachers where there isn’t a bad view of the speedway from anywhere with your special Mom, Aunt and enjoy a day of racing on Mother’s Day! No pop-up tents or chairs with a canopy are allowed. Who knows, there might even be a sighting of Jumping Joey there on Sunday.

The next event to take place at Knox Raceway will be the first of five consecutive races in a row as part of Western PA Sprint Speedweek on Wednesday, May 31st with gates opening at 4pm and racing starting at 7pm. Running with the 410 Sprint Cars will be the RUSH Wingless Sprint Car division. Western PA Sprint Speedweek will then move on to Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Thursday night. Friday night they will visit Lernerville Speedway and on Saturday night Sharon Speedway will host the event. The final race of the series which will pay $3,000 to the point leader will round out at Tri City Raceway Park in Franklin, PA

There will be parts truck available as well as fuel for sale at the speedway and they will also have transponders for rent for each event. Knox Raceway and the Steinman’s are looking at getting the 2023 racing season started and hope you will be able to come and enjoy the competition on the track.
