Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CHRIS ANDREWS RACING – SANDUSKY, OH – Another weekend in the Buckeye State resulted in another success story for Chris Andrews and newly formed Chris Andrews Racing, and although the Sandusky, Ohio-based open wheel program missed the top-ten in their Friday night visit to Attica Raceway Park, the statistic flipped the following evening, Saturday, May 13, at Fremont Speedway where Andrews recorded his second top-five of the season.
Andrews, ace of the Ohio Truck Sales/Fleet Capital No. 15C sprint car, finished fifth in Fremont’s Attica/Fremont Championship Series (AFCS) program, climbing forward five positions after starting tenth on the 30-lap grid. The former two-time Attica Raceway Park track champion opened Fremont’s $4,000-to-win showcase with the sixth-fastest qualifying time, racing on to finish third in his respective heat race.
Although finishing 11th at Attica on Friday, May 12, Andrews’ preliminary effort was sound and consistent, not only timing third-quick overall, but continuing on to find a win during heat race action; he started eighth on the feature grid.
“We’re still getting things dialed in, but we’re making progress. All in all, I’m pleased with our results and I’m proud of this entire team. They work hard and I owe our results to them,” Chris Andrews explained. “We have a big one coming up on Friday at Attica, so we’ll put our notes to the test and see where we stand.”
Chris Andrews and Chris Andrews Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with another action-packed weekend in the Buckeye State, first joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, May 19, followed by an AFCS stop at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, May 20.
