Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – In all, a stout week and weekend through the Keystone State for Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing, not only recording a runner-up finish in Selinsgrove Speedway’s annual Ray Tilley Classic on Sunday, May 14, but padding his recent stat chart with a top-five against the World of Outlaws at Lincoln Speedway on Wednesday, May 10.
Dubbed the Gettysburg Clash, Dietrich finished fourth in his Lincoln Speedway appearance, driving forward from tenth on the A-Main grid, and qualifying for the 35-lapper with a third-place finish during his respective heat race. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native is two for two within the top-ten against the World of Outlaws at Lincoln Speedway this season, finishing sixth in his first try on Saturday, March 18.
Dietrich would go on to finish 15th against the Greatest Show On Dirt at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 12. To no surprise, the end result was the product of forward progress, rallying ahead from row 12.
“It was a sound weekend for this team. Our goal is to win, but consistency and forward progress is just as important and we certainly put that to practice,” Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, said. “We have another busy week and weekend ahead. We’re excited to get rolling.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with another high-paced weekend in the northeast, set to invade Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway/Fonda Speedway/Lincoln Speedway, and BAPS Motor Speedway in consecutive fashion on Friday through Sunday, May 19-21. In addition, Dietrich will join the High Limit Sprint Car Series at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 16; the event will award $32,023-to-win.
