Spencer Bayston & CJB Motorsports Climb At Atomic; North Dakota & Minnesota Next

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – Although an up and down weekend for Spencer Bayson and CJB Motorsports, continuing their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a visit to Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, May 26-27, followed by a stop at the highbanks of Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on Monday, May 29, the Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based open wheel team still managed to find success, ultimately opening their Ohio and Indiana slate with a top-ten performance at Atomic on Friday.

Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, finished seventh in his top-ten outcome in southern Ohio, commencing his run all the way back from row eight. The top-ten bumped Bayston’s season tally to 13, three of which accomplished within the top-five.

In addition, Bayston, calling Lebanon, Indiana, home, finished 12th in his second appearance at Atomic Speedway on Saturday, battling ahead one position after starting 13th on the A-Main grid.

Unfortunately, a late-race incident at Lawrenceburg, contact with the outside retaining wall while battling for a top-ten spot, did not allow Bayston to finish the annual Memorial Day Spectacular; he was scored 21st.

Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a two-day swing through North Dakota and Minnesota, first paying a visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Friday, June 2, then stopping by Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 3.
