June 16th Racing Action At Ohsweken Speedway Cancelled Due To Wet Grounds

Story By: OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY – OHSWEKEN, ONT – Ohsweken Speedway Is forced to cancel the scheduled racing event for Tonight, Friday, June 16th.

The decision to cancel the event was made due to poor and unsafe ground conditions caused by heavy rainfall over the past four days.

The excessive precipitation has resulted in a saturated track, pit area, and spectator parking lot, rendering them unsuitable for racing activities.

Despite initial hopes for improvement, the track officials assessed the situation at 10:00am and again at 12:00pm and determined that the continued rainfall and lack of progress in drying the grounds made it impossible to proceed with the races.

The infield, in particular, was deemed impassable for safety vehicles, which would have hindered the ability of our safety response team to properly service the event.

“We sincerely apologize to all the drivers, teams, and fans,” expressed track owner and promoter, Glenn Styres. “The safety of everyone involved is our utmost priority, and the current ground conditions make it impossible to ensure a safe and enjoyable racing experience.”

In light of this unfortunate cancellation, all of the Big Payouts initially scheduled Ackland Insurance night will be added to the June 30th Payouts on O’Neil’s Case IH Night.
