TKS Motorsports & Chase Randall Find Podium In Knoxville Raceway’s Border Battle

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TKS MOTORSPORTS – MITCHELLVILLE, OH – TKS Motorsports and newly hired gun, Chase Randall, came out swinging during the recent weekend, not only activating their full-time arrangement with a visit to Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, on Friday, June 16, but flanking that stop with a return trip to the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, June 17.

Although short of victory, the weekend was not short of overall accomplishment, highlighting the Border Battle pair with a podium performance at Iowa’s historic Knoxville Raceway.

Randall, full-time ace of the Albaugh – Your Alternative, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, deWit Construction, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, Freedom Concrete Pumping, No. 2KS sprint car, finished third in his podium appearance at Knoxville, tussling for the top spot early before settling into his finishing position. The Waco, Texas, native kicked off the evening program with the third-fastest time of 32 entries, ultimately qualifying for main event action with a fifth-place score in his respective heat race.

Randall and TKS Motorsports kicked off the weekend with a 14th-place score in Friday’s visit to Jackson Motorplex. The team did not compete in Sunday’s Border Battle finale at Huset’s Speedway, as Randall had prior commitments with his family operation, Randall Motorsports.

“We’re proud of Chase and what he was able to accomplish in his first, full weekend out with our team,” Troy Renfro, owner of TKS Motorsports, said. “We’ll do whatever we can to learn more and more about each other. There’s a pretty big race at Knoxville in mid-August. We hope to make some noise that weekend.”

TKS Motorsports and Chase Randall will take a weekend off allowing Randall to fulfill High Bank Nationals duties aboard his own Randall Motorsports No. 9.
