Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CHRIS ANDREWS RACING – SANDUSKY, OH – The weekend slate was intended to be business as usual for Chris Andrews and his newly formed Chris Andrews Racing.
Although Mother Nature stepped in and ruined their Saturday plans to revisit Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, action went on as scheduled at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, on Friday, June 30, giving the team their final test session before the rapidly approaching Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday, July 11.
Andrews, ace of his own Ohio Truck Sales/Fleet Capital No. 15C sprint car, finished 12th in his Attica return, utilizing a strong preliminary effort to activate his eventual outcome. The Sandusky, Ohio, native set the second-fastest time overall, racing on to finish third during his respective heat race.
Andrews went on to start fifth on Attica’s A-Main lineup.
“We had to battle a tight race car all night, but overall, a great effort by this entire team,” Andrews said. “We’re still trying to figure out this new tire. It’s thrown some curveballs at us, but we’re getting closer.
“We have a big July slate ahead with a lot of money on the line,” Andrews added. “We’ll get some laps at Fremont this weekend before turning our attention toward Attica and Eldora.”
Chris Andrews and Chris Andrews Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with another routine stop in the Buckeye State, this time visiting Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, on Saturday, July 8.
