Story By: BEN SHELTON / BERNHEISEL RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Bryan Bernheisel crossed his first victory of 2023 off the bingo card on Saturday night by besting the competition at Port Royal Speedway with his Bernheisel Race Components No. 119 Tools Etc / Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips / Lazer Chassis Super Late Model.
“It feels so good to win at Port Royal (Speedway). We’ve had our share of struggles at that place. Brandon (Bernheisel) and the crew have worked really hard on this car, and it showed on Saturday night,” Bryan Bernheisel shared.
Saturday saw Bryan and Jim Bernheisel competing in their Lazer Chassis Late Models at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway for the track’s Kids Night.
With 32 Late Models on the grounds, both drivers raced their way into the main event with a heat race victory. Earning the pole for the feature, Bryan led flag-to-flag in the 25-lap affair to claim his first win of the season and a $4,000 prize.
He finished 1.503 seconds ahead of Trever Feathers with Rick Eckert, Gregg Satterlee, and Jeff Rine completing the top-five finishers.
Jim followed up an 11th-to-7th showing in the feature with a fourth-to-second run in the $1,000-to-win 10-lap Australian Pursuit, honoring Glenn Stitt.
Bryan is now gearing up for a tripleheader in West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland. Action opens with a pair of $10,053-to-win Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series events at Beckley (W.Va.) Motorsports Park and Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) on Friday and Saturday. From there the team will visit Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Sunday evening for the $5,015-to-win Frank Sagi Tribute.
