Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TKS MOTORSPORTS – MITCHELLVILLE, IA – It’s been a smooth transition for Mitchellville, Iowa’s TKS Motorsports and recently appointed wheelman, Chase Randall, and despite a relatively new relationship, the team has proven their weight in results, recently recording a podium score at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, July 15.
Randall, who calls Waco, Texas, home, started eighth in his podium pursuit, utilizing an eventual green-white-checkered restart to power into third at the last moment. The ace of the familiar Albaugh – Your Alternative/Iowa Barnstormers No. 2KS sprint car kicked off the evening program with a runner-up performance during heat race competition, ultimately setting up his row four A-Main starting position.
Randall, TKS Motorsports, and Knoxville’s podium are certainly not strangers to one another, finding third in Knoxville’s Border Battle on Saturday, June 17.
“We’re proud of Chase and his determination to win. He’s molding in quite well,” Troy Renfro, owner of TKS Motorsports, stated. “I’m confident he has what it takes to propel our team to the next level. With the Nationals coming up quickly, we’re going to keep our heads down and look at the big picture. We have goals in mind and I’m confident we’ll reach those goals.”
TKS Motorsports and Chase Randall will continue their 2023 campaign with an Iowa doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, July 21-22, first joining the All Star Circuit of Champions at 34 Raceway in West Burlington on Friday, then returning to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville on Saturday.
