Story By: JIM CLARKE / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – Centre stage will belong to the Action Sprint Tour – Saturday, July 22nd – as the popular series brings its national showcase to Brockville Speedway.
The best of the group’s Eastern and Western legs will converge on the popular oval on Temperance Lake Road for a head-to-head showdown that will take another step toward crowning the overall 2023 champion. Also on the docket will be the DIRTcar Small Block and Sportsman-Modifieds, plus Novice Sportsman and Mini Stocks.
A pair of drivers with an extensive background in the 358 Modified ranks – Lee Ladouceur and Mike Bowman – currently hold down the top spots in respective Eastern and Western division standings. Bowman has 3 wins in the Oakwood Transport Western championship standings, while Ladouceur’s No. 51L has the same number of victories and has been early unbeatable on his home turf in the Surprenant Truck Shop Eastern division running order.
Brockville Ontario Speedway will host the first 2 Action Sprint Tour, fueled by Pinty’s National Tour dates. Saturday, July 22nd and Saturday, August 19th.
Local race fans are counting the days until Wednesday, August 2nd for the return of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds to Brockville Ontario Speedway. For the first time since 2019, the sport’s biggest names will be back at The BOS for the Canadian Classic, presented by Karra’s Burgers and Fries. The 75-lap tour stop – paying $7,500 to win – will also feature the Sportsman-Modifieds and NLMA Late Models.
Gates will open at 4:00, with time trials and hot laps prior to the 7:00 green flag.
“Our fan base has been looking forward to seeing the Big Blocks return since the final checkered flag in 2019,” said Brockville Speedway track owner and promoter Paul Kirkland. “Track officials and staff are just as excited about this show as everyone who’ll come through the main gates.”
