Dennis Erb Racing Invades Fairbury Speedway After Elkhorn 100 Top Ten

Story By: RYAN DELPH / DENNIS ERB RACING – CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – Dennis Erb Racing competed in the 13th Annual ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ from July 20-22, which was held for the first time at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota.

Things kicked off last Thursday night with the ‘Go 50’ that shelled out $12,000 to the winner. Dennis Erb, Jr. placed sixth in his heat race and third in his B-Main prior to winding up twenty-third in the final finishing order of the 50-lap weekend opener.

Following a rain-out last Friday, the entire ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ program was contested on Saturday at the South Dakota bullring. During the double heat race format in the afternoon, Dennis finished fifth in his first heat race, while he ran third in his final prelim. By virtue of racking up the thirteenth most passing points during the day, Dennis rolled off from the inside of the seventh row in the 80-lap headliner later that evening. With $53,000 on the line in the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals,’ the Carpentersville, Illinois star was officially paid for a fifteenth place effort.

After the weekend in South Dakota, the XR Super Series took center stage by sanctioning the ‘Elkhorn 100’ on July 24-25 at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, Nebraska. On Monday night during preliminary action, Dennis Erb, Jr. earned Fast Time honors and set a New Track Record during the qualifying session before running second in his stacked heat race. In his $5,000 to win prelim feature, Dennis landed on the podium in third after the 25-lapper behind only race winner Daulton Wilson and runner-up Ricky Thornton, Jr. On Tuesday in the 100-lap headliner, which boasted a whopping $100,000 top prize, he raced hard throughout the top ten and eventually placed tenth at the unfurling of the checkered flag.

Next up for the #28 team will be the 33rd edition of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic’ at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series spectacular will start later tonight, July 28 with qualifying and $5,000 to win Showdown features. The B-Mains and 100-lap ‘Prairie Dirt Classic’ will be held at #FALS on Saturday, July 29. A $50,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs, along with bonus lap money.
