Forecasted Rain, Thunderstorms Nix Thursday Night’s Event At Delaware International

Story By: CHRIS MOORE / DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY – DELMAR, DE – Rain, rain go away.  Another night of racing in the First State has fallen victim to Mother Nature, with tonight’s racing action at Delaware International Speedway falling by the wayside.

With steady rain and thunderstorms scheduled to move over the area in the afternoon and evening, tonight’s racing action has been postponed.

The night of racing becomes the second consecutive race to be nixed. The management team will work on a make-up date.

The next scheduled event at the half-mile oval is set for Sept. 22 when the Rapid Tire Services USAC East Coast Sprint Cars invade the speedway for the second time this season.

Also on the docket are the Millman’s NAPA Modifieds battling for a $3,000 top prize, the Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman, the RUSH Late Models, Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Car Club, Little Lincolns, and the Delmarva Chargers.
