Zearfoss Tenth In Knoxville Nationals Preliminary Effort; All In For Jackson Motorplex

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Although just missing an automatic bid into Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals A-Main and B-Main starting lineups, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss put together an impressive performance in his respective preliminary effort, eventually concluding Thursday’s 25-lap program with a tenth-place score, driving ahead three spots after starting 13th on the grid.

That result, mixed in with a runner-up finish during heat race action, and recording the 26th-fastest qualifying time overall, put the Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native 30th in the final Knoxville National standings – only 26 made the cut for Saturday’s A-Main and B-Main “lock in” bids.

Despite missing anything guaranteed, Zearfoss got a second chance Friday evening in the Hard Knox program with additional drivers making the cut for Saturday’s 50-lap, $185,000-to-win finale. Unfortunately for Zearfoss, he was unable to finish high enough in the Hard Knox program to qualify for the Knoxville Nationals finale A-Main. He would race on to finish eighth in the Hard Knox B-Main.

Brock Zearfoss’ 2023 Knoxville Nationals campaign would eventually end in Saturday’s C-Main where he finished 14th.

“A bittersweet week for our team. We were so close to locking ourselves in. Having a second chance on Friday is nice, but you can also get yourself in a hole. Regardless, it was a fun and successful week and we’re already looking forward to trying again next year,” Zearfoss, driver of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, Milton Hershey School, A. Lane Living, No. 3Z sprint car, said. “Hats off to my team. Their hard work is what puts us in a position to be successful. We have another big event coming up so hopefully we can capitalize.”

Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the 45th Annual Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, on Thursday through Saturday, August 17-19. The week’s finale will award a $25,000 payday.
