Tyler Hawn Victorious In OSCAAR Hot Rod Feature At Brighton Speedway

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – BRIGHTON, ONT – Taking the lead and pacing the final 16 laps, Tyler Hawn won the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod feature at Brighton Speedway on Saturday, September 9.

Running a Camaro owned by Steve Book, it’d be Connor Ellis winning the first JRS Auctions heat ahead of Dave McMahon, Ryan Cowan, Bill Clarke, Trevor Thompson, Norm Mayhew, Art Rodgers, and Matt Spry.

Tyler Hawn won the second qualifier in front of Brandon Crumbie, Rob Bromley, Jamie Cairns, Nick Clarke, Kyle Woods, and Steve Book.

Come feature time, Tyler Hawn worked his way through the field methodically to take the lead with just four laps on the board. From there, he did look back en route to parking the No. 2 Pontiac Beaumont in McColl Racing Enterprises victory lane.

Brandon Crumbie kept his impressive Hot Rod dirt podium streak going, making it three in a row with a runner-up as he filled in for Jeremy McLean once again. Connor Ellis completed the podium with points leader Steve Book and Ryan Cowan rounding out the top-five.

Rob Bromley showed improvement on the dirt with a sixth ahead of Nick Clarke, Trevor Thompson, Dave McHahon, and Jamie Cairns. Norm Mayhew was 11th in a rare appearance in front of Kyle Woods, Art Rodgers, Matt Spry, and Bill Clarke.

The Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods are back in action at Delaware Speedway on Saturday, September 23.
