Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – It was an all-out productive weekend in the Lone Star State for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, not only concluding their two-day stay at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with a pair of top-ten scores, but finding the top-five in the process, eventually highlighting the Final Stampede with a fourth-place outcome on Friday, October 20.
Bayston, who won both heat races in his campaign in Mesquite, Texas, started fourth in his Friday night attempt, pressuring reigning Outlaws champion, Brad Sweet, for third before settling for one spot off the podium.
Nearly matching his Friday night outcome, Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, raced on to finish sixth in the $20,023-to-win Final Stampede finale on Saturday, October 21, maintaining his place within the top-ten after starting fourth on the evening grid.
With all results considered, Bayston’s season top-ten tally now stands at 40, 11 of which scored within the top five including one victory in Pevely, Missouri. The Lebanon, Indiana, native and former World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year will have one final opportunity to pad his stat card, as the World of Outlaws World Finals will conclude the 2023 World of Outlaws season in early November.
“In all, it was a successful weekend for this CJB Motorsports team. Being fast right out of the gate and earning dash appearances on both evenings really set the tone for us. Earning front row starting positions for each of our heat races was the key and ultimately allowed us to be in winning contention for both features,” Spencer Bayston explained. “There was a lot of hype surrounding the events at Devil’s Bowl, and with this being their final event, it was a special time to be there. The energy from the fans was unmatched and we were proud and excited to be a part of it. To have this level of momentum heading into the World Finals is very important, as we look to conclude our season in a strong manner.”
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the season ending World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina, on Wednesday through Saturday, November 1-4.
