Story By: MIKE LEONE / RUSH RACING SERIES – FULTONVILLE, NY – The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants will conduct an informational meeting for current and potential Glen Ridge Motorsports Park racers on Saturday, November 4.
The meeting, which is open to the general public, will take place at 12 p.m. at Classic Muscle Parts located at 5237 Sacandaga Road, Galway NY 12074. The meeting will be led by RUSH Series Director Vicki Emig and RUSH Officials. Food and refreshments will be available.
“When we sanction a new speedway we always try to host a general informational meeting on RUSH,” explained Emig. “We’ll explain the aspects of the RUSH program as well as our technical rules and procedures and much more. With Glen Ridge being outside of our general area, we realize that most of the competitors will be new to RUSH in general so this will be a great opportunity for them to ask questions and get the proper answers.”
Glen Ridge held their first ever RUSH Late Model event on August 13. The successful City Chevrolet Weekly Series $1,000 to-win event was won by Chad Homan. The 1/4-mile eastern New York dirt track located in Fultonville will run the RUSH Late Models in 2024 as part of their weekly Sunday night program.
RUSH member racers will be able to participate at Glen Ridge on a weekly basis in 2024 and be eligible for all of the programs including the City Chevrolet National Weekly Series Championship, City Chevrolet “Track Pack” program, and the “Futures Cup” for those eligible racers. While membership is not mandatory to compete in any RUSH-sanctioned event, membership also includes a $100,000 excess participant accident policy, which is over and above drivers’ health insurance and speedways’ participant accident policy.
The City Chevrolet “Track Pack” is offered to all RUSH weekly-sanctioned speedways, and once again in 2024 will award $2,500 that each track’s top six member racers will share. The 2024 RUSH member champion at Glen Ridge will earn $1,000 with $500 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth, $200 for fifth, and $100 for sixth. Member racers are also eligible for the $27,525 City Chevrolet National Weekly Series Championship point fund that pays the top 40 positions. The Futures Cup is a separate point fund for eligible teenage racers that pays $500 to-win. A RUSH Late Model Flynn’s Tire Touring Series event is possible if scheduling permits.
Freedom Motorsports Park, Genesee Speedway, Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park, Stateline Speedway, and Woodhull Raceway were all New York RUSH Late Model Weekly-Sanctioned tracks in 2023, while Outlaw and Ransomville Speedways also hosted an event.
