Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RIDGE & SONS RACING – KNOXVILLE, IA – Despite Mother Nature stepping in and ruining the second half of Cory Eliason’s weekend in Pennsylvania Posse Country, Friday’s visit to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, went forward as planned, racing on to secure his second top ten performance in as many tries.
Eliason, who earned his first victory of the season just one weekend prior at BAPS Motor Speedway, finished sixth in his visit to the world famous half-mile, doing so from the inside of row eight. The Visalia, California, native is now three-for-three in the top ten category with crew chief Jim Shuttlesworth, finishing third at Williams Grove Speedway on March 22 before the aforementioned triumph at BAPS Motor Speedway two days later.
“We’re starting to hit our stride and it feels good. Teaming up with a new crew chief can be a challenge, but Jim [Shuttlesworth] and I have transitioned well together. We’re confident this will only continue,” Eliason, ace of the Ridge & Sons Racing, Commercial Edge, NDT New Direction Transport LLC, Ridge Development, North Ridge Development, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, B And L Holdings, No. 8 sprint car, explained. “Hats off to this entire team. Brian and Lisa Ridge really pride themselves in providing the equipment necessary to be successful and they’ve certainly proved that. We’re going to keep our eyes on the weather, but the plan is to venture back to the Midwest this weekend.”
Ridge & Sons Racing and Cory Eliason [No. 8] will continue their 2024 campaign with a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series start at US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri, on Friday, April 5, followed by an IRA Outlaw Sprint Series visit to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, on Saturday, April 6.
