Story By: MATT SKIPPER / WORLD OF OUTLAWS – CONCORD, NC – With weather models from Precision Weather Service showing an increase in dangerous thunderstorms and torrential rain in Oklahoma and Kansas this weekend, World of Outlaws Late Model, Arrowhead Speedway and 81 Speedway officials agreed to cancel Friday and Saturday’s events.
The decision comes after working closely with Precision Weather Service experts. Keeping the safety of traveling fans and teams in mind the decision to cancel was made.
Now “The Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet” turn their attention to the three-day Dairyland Showdown at Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Thursday-Saturday, May 2-4.
Four-time Series champion Brandon Sheppard, of New Berlin, IL, leads the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model points – 24 points over Gray Court, SC driver Chris Madden. Sophomore standout Nick Hoffman sits third in the standings with Robeline, LA driver Cade Dillard and Decorah, IA driver Tyler Bruening rounding out the top five.
