Story By: A2DPR / KYLE REINHARDT RACING – YORK HAVEN, PA – Kyle Reinhardt entered the weekend coming off of a top-ten finish at Lincoln Speedway’s Weldon Sterner Memorial, his best run of the young season. The goal was to carry that into Port Royal Speedway’s Keith Kauffman Classic, then on to BAPS Motor Speedway.
Establishing consistent performance would be critical with World of Outlaws events just over the horizon.
SEARCHING FOR CONSISTENCY
Reinhardt kicked off his weekend Saturday night with his first Port Royal Speedway appearance of the season. His qualifying lap of 15.474 on the lightning-fast surface put him 10th in Group A.
A 5th place finish in his heat race put Reinhardt 18th on the grid for the 30-lap main event, which played out as a story of survival.
Reinhardt was able to avoid multiple crashes during the finale, climbing to a 13th-place finish when the checkered flag fell.
On Sunday, Reinhardt and his team moved down the road to BAPS Motor Speedway where he had numerous top-ten finishes last season. In two starts this season, he had not been able to mirror those results, but things appeared to be looking up when he timed 2nd quickest in his group.
Reinhardt started and finished 3rd in his heat race, which put him outside row six to take the green in the 30-lap A-main. He moved into 11th on lap two and appeared poised to advance into the top ten when things changed for the Capitol Custom Coaches & Trailers, Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet Beer, E-Z-GO Golf Cars, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91.
Over the course of the next fifteen laps, Reinhardt lost seven spots, eventually retiring from the race early.
“We’ve been struggling. This car treated us well last year but it has not been the same since I had it fixed over the winter, so we will be putting a new car together this week.”, Reinhardt shared.
