Story By: RYAN DELPH / SPRING NATIONALS SERIES – BRASSTOWN, NC – As the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco season heads down the homestretch, the miniseries will invade the Peach State for a pair of pivotal point races over the May 3-4 weekend.
Up first will be a stop at Sugar Creek Raceway, as the tour makes its inaugural visit to the Blue Ridge, Georgia oval this Friday night for a $7,553 to win showdown.
The doubleheader weekend will then conclude in a big way on Saturday evening at the historic Dixie Speedway with a $10,053 top prize up for grabs at the Woodstock, Georgia venue.
On Friday at Sugar Creek Raceway, the pit gates will swing open at 3:00pm and the grandstands will open at 5:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:30pm and Hot Laps will take to the racetrack at 7:00pm. Joining the Super Late Models on the racing card in Blue Ridge, Georgia will be 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Front Wheel Drives paying $500 to the winner.
Adults will be admitted into the grandstands for $25.00 and into the pit area for $45.00. Kids ages 11-15 will be allowed into the stands and into the pits for only $20.00. At Dixie Speedway on Saturday, the Spring Nationals will make their ninth career visit to the storied Atlanta-area facility. Steve Casebolt (’13), Dale McDowell (’14), Donald McIntosh (’15), Mike Marlar (’16), Dale McDowell (’17 & ’18), Michael Page (’19), and Randy Weaver (’21) have all celebrated wins with the tour in Woodstock, Georgia. Joining the Super Late Models in action will be 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Open Wheels, 602 Beginners, and Stingers. In addition, there will be a $1,000 to win REVERSE RACE that anyone with a helmet and a seatbelt can enter.
The pit gates and tailgate area both open at 2:00pm, while the main gate will start to allow patrons into the vast grandstands starting at 4:00pm. Hot Laps will get underway on the red clay at 6:30pm with racing action slated to start at 7:00pm. Grandstand admission will be $35.00 for adults, $10.00 for students ages 13-17, and FREE for kids ages 12 and under. Tailgate and pit admission will be $40.00 for adults, $10.00 for students ages 6-12, and FREE for kids ages 5 and under. Dixie Speedway is located at 150 Dixie Drive in Woodstock, GA 30189. Ethan Dotson (Waycross Motor Speedway), Brandon Overton (I-75 Raceway), Dale McDowell (Tazewell Speedway), Ashton Winger (Buckshot Speedway), Kyle Bronson (East Alabama Motor Speedway), and Camaron Marlar (Lake Cumberland Speedway) have all celebrated in Schaeffer’s Oil Victory Lane so far in 2024. Pearson Lee Williams finds himself atop the current point standings by only two markers over Donald McIntosh, while Christian Hanger sits in the third position in the latest point tally.
The Spring Nationals tire rule in 2024 is Hoosier Racing Tire NLMT 2, 3, 4 and American Racer Tire 44, 48, Pro3/56, Pro4. Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series – among others. The entry fee will be $100.00 each night and transponders will be available to rent. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $75.00 in tow money.
