COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Rained Out At The Ditch

Story By: BEN SHELTON / COMP CAMS SUPER DIRT SERIES – WEST MEMPHIS, AR – Heavy rain on Thursday afternoon paired with overcast conditions and more rain in the forecast has forced officials with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model Series and Clayton Allen’s Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Ark.) to cancel Saturday’s scheduled event.

“Man, we just can’t catch a break with weather and Riverside (International Speedway). This is the third-straight year that weather has got us there. The facility was pounded with rain Thursday afternoon, and the sun hasn’t been out since, so there’s been no drying,” CCSDS CEO Chris Sullivan said. “We’re evaluating possible reschedule dates with the track to see if any options present themselves before the end of the season.”

The tour now turns its attention to the 2024 edition of the Bad Boy 98 weekend, which will be held on May 10 – 11 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.). The weekend opens on Friday, May 10 with a $5,000-to-win / $400-to-win, 30-lap program. Then on Saturday, May 11 the weekend concludes with a 68-lap finale, which posts a $12,000-to-win / $600-to-start finale.

An Open Practice Session is scheduled for Thursday, May 9.
