Unstable Weather Forecast Postpones $20,053 Beckley USA 100 To Sunday, June 30th

Story By: RYAN DELPH / SPRING NATIONALS SERIES – MOUNT HOPE, WV – With rain chances escalating in the hours leading up to tomorrow’s annual ‘Beckley USA 100,’ Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series and Beckley Motor Speedway officials have jointly agreed to postpone the $20,053 Super Late Model special back to Sunday, June 30.

The Mount Hope, West Virginia facility has also canceled tonight’s open practice session, but will forge ahead and try to get a regular show into the books on Saturday, May 11 – along with a weekly program for Super Late Models.

“The weather has not been kind to us the last several weeks, but we’re happy that the Beckley USA 100 will be rescheduled to its new date of Sunday, June 30,” quoted series promoter Ray Cook just a few moments ago. “The weather forecast in the afternoon tomorrow keeps getting worse and it’s just too much to ask teams to drive 7-8 hours with that kind of unstable weather. I know the track has worked hard and is eager to host the Beckley USA 100, but hopefully the weather on Sunday, June 30 will be more favorable.”

The points portion of the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco season will conclude over the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend in the states of Georgia and Tennessee. A $7,553 winner’s check will be on the line in the weekend lid lifter at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Georgia on Friday, May 24. A pair of $10,053 top prizes will then be up for grabs on Saturday, May 25 at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia and on Sunday, May 26 at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee. A Champion will be crowned following the race at Duck River and the postponed ‘Beckley USA 100’ will be non-points.
