Story By: RYAN DELPH / DENNIS ERB RACING – CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series took the Dennis Erb Racing team to the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania from May 16-19 for four high-profile events at four different venues. On Thursday night in the $10,000 to win weekend opener at Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran fifth in his stacked heat race prior to securing a victory in his B-Main. After starting the 40-lap feature from the outside of the ninth row, Dennis picked off six competitors during the race to land in the twelfth finishing position. Friday’s $15,000 to win program scheduled for Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania was unfortunately washed out by early rain showers.
A $15,000 top prize was then up for grabs for the #28 team on Saturday evening at Marion Center Raceway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. Dennis placed second in his heat race and sixth in the final rundown of the 50-lap headliner. The weekend finale took place on Sunday at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, Pennsylvania with a $10,000 winner’s check on the line. Dennis ran third in his heat race before working his way past a handful of competitors during the 40-lapper to claim a strong fifth place performance behind only victor Bobby Pierce, Mason Zeigler, Brandon Sheppard, and Ryan Gustin!
Dennis currently finds himself eighth in the latest version of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings heading into this weekend’s inaugural ‘Ultimate Late Model Showdown’ at Ultimate Motorsports Park in Elkin, North Carolina. The two-day extravaganza in the Tarheel State starts later tonight with twin 25-lap, $4,000 to win prelim features. Tonight’s split-field weekend openers will help set the stage for the grand finale on Saturday, May 25, which shells out a whopping $35,000 first place prize.
