Heavy Rain, Severe Weather Postpones Super DIRTcar Series Event at Thunder Mountain to July 17

Story By: MIKE WARREN / SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES – CENTER LISLE, NY – With heavy overnight rainfall at Thunder Mountain Speedway and more projected to fall throughout the day, including the potential for severe storms, Super DIRTcar Series and Thunder Mountain officials have agreed to postpone Monday’s Thunder on the Mountain event.

The event will now be run on Wednesday, July 17.

The Super DIRTcar Series now focuses on next week’s two-night Pennsylvania swing. The doubleheader kicks off at Big Diamond Speedway on Tuesday, June 4, for the Anthracite Assault before heading to Selinsgrove Speedway for the Sand Hill 75 on Wednesday, June 5.

Both races are $10,000-to-win and have a guaranteed spot at Super DIRT Week 52 on the line.

Peter Britten enters the Keystone State swing with a three-point lead over Anthony Perrego, who won the Anthracite Assault in 2023. The top five in the standings are separated by 28 points, with Mat Williamson, Matt Sheppard, and Jimmy Phelps completing the top five.
