Story By: RYAN DELPH / CONLEY MOTORSPORTS – WHEELERSBURG, OH – The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams ventured north to Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio and Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio on May 24-25 for a pair of $5,000 to win Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series showdowns.
On Friday night at Attica, Rod Conley placed second in his heat race before finishing the 40-lap feature in the fifth position behind only victor Rusty Schlenk, Kyle Moore, Seth Daniels, and Ryan Missler. His brother R.J. Conley ran third in his heat race and tenth in the 40-lapper.
At Oakshade on Saturday evening with another $5,000 paycheck on the line, Rod secured a heat race triumph and later started the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the front row. “Hot Rod” then nabbed another top five performance in the A-Main, as he crossed underneath the checkered flag fourth behind only winner Rusty Schlenk, Casey Noonan, and Billy Green. The #71C car and driver R.J. Conley was close behind, as the Wheelersburg, Ohio native finished second in his heat race and seventh in the 40-lap main event.
The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series will take the CMI teams up the road to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio later today, June 1 for the ‘June Jam.’ Both Rod and R.J. Conley will be on hand Saturday to vie for the $5,000 first place prize money. Rod comes into the event tonight fourth in the latest series point standings, while R.J. finds himself in the eighth position.
