NASCAR Modified & Sportsman Doubleheader Program This Saturday At Grandview Speedway

Story By: JEFFREY AHLUM / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Following two action packed and exciting race events last week, Grandview Speedway is ready for two more days of racing this weekend!

Racing action for the month of June continues with A.D. Moyer Lumber Company as the presenting race night sponsor for the Saturday, June 8 racing program featuring the traditional double header for the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman, including all qualifying events for both divisions leading into a 30-lap Modified main event and a 25-lap Sportsman feature race.

Saturday night’s program which is part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series will see pit gates open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

This Saturday is also the final night to use any tickets or wristbands from the May 25 race program.

This upcoming weekend will actually see two shows beginning on Friday, June 7, featuring the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage Cars in action along with the Xcel 600 Modifieds starting at 7 pm. Pit gates open at 2 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5 pm. Grandstand admission will be $10, with children ages 12 and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $30 for the Friday event.

The second Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event is fast approaching on Tuesday, June 11 featuring the 17th annual Jesse Hockett Classic Eastern Storm for the USAC National Championship non-wing Sprint Cars.

The ever popular USAC National Sprint series will be joined by the 358 Modifieds for a fantastic two-division program starting at 7:30 pm.

This past Saturday T.P. Trailer Modified point leader Jeff Strunk scored a strong fourth place feature run to remain on top of the point chase, while Mike Gular holds down the second spot in the standings after an eighth place outing last Saturday night.

Duane Howard holds down third in points despite missing a top ten finish, while Craig Von Dohren sits fourth in points following a tenth place run and Jared Umbenhauer holds down the fifth spot in points after just missing out on a top ten finish last Saturday.

The top ten in T.P. Trailer Modified points are 1. Jeff Strunk – 1305, 2. Mike Gular – 1240, 3. Duane Howard – 1188, 4. Craig Von Dohren – 1174, 5. Jared Umbenhauer – 1062, 6. Eddie Strada – 1017, 7. Tim Buckwalter – 999, 8. Ryan Watt – 926, 9. Doug Manmiller – 923, 10. Kevin Hirthler – 847.

Logan Watt has returned to the top position in the T.P. Truck Equipment point standings following a feature win and a sixth place run in last Saturday’s double feature program, while Adrianna Delliponti now sits second in the standings after a hard fought fifth place outing in the first feature and a disappointing involvement in a mishap in feature two kept her from a top ten finish.

Dylan Swinehart now holds down third in points following a ninth in one of the double features, while Ryan Graver now sits fourth in points following a seventh place run and just missing a top ten in the other main event, followed by Addison Meitzler who also scored a tenth place feature run and just missed a top ten in feature number two to round out the top five in the point standings.

Macmillan Oil Company of Allentown will present the races on Saturday, June 15 which includes both the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T. P. Truck Equipment Sportsman in action at 7:30 pm.

Another popular event from last season is also inching closer on the schedule on Saturday, July 6, when Grandview presents Back to the 90’s Night and just $10 grandstand admission!
