Story By: TIM BALTZ / DAWDY RACING – BROCKVILLE, ONT – It began in August 26th of 2005 when Bobby Herington won his first stock car race, a 20 lap DIRTCar Sportsman feature at the Brockville Ontario Speedway, 49 more wins on top of that across the DIRTCar 358 Modified and even more in the Sportsman ranks, Bobby Herrington achieved a milestone win Saturday night.
This past weekend the Kim and Dan Dawdy owned team, gave their hired gun Bobby Herrington the fast car to grab an important win in his great career. Bobby grabbed the lead late in the 25 lap feature event and held it the rest of the way to score his 50th career win across DIRTCar Sportsman and DIRTCar 358 Modified racing.
Between both Modified divisions at Brockville, 358 and Sportsman, Bobby has complied a total of 37 wins with 28 coming in the sportsman class in the last three years, with 25 victories coming with the Dawdy racing team.
Career totals Bobby has compiled 41 Sportsman wins and 9 wins in the Modified ranks across 7 tracks (Evans Mills, Brockville, Edelweiss, Can Am, Cornwall, Brighton and Fulton)
Bobby as a driver knows with the likes of Shane Pecore, Gavin Eisele, Jessica Power, Dylan Kirkland, Brennan Moore and many others, winning is far from easy, as they continue to keep pushing forward and bring a fast car to the track every week.
Bobby comes into Brockville Saturday night with a slim 6 point advantage over three time track champion Shane Pecore and 14 points ahead of Gavin Eisele, who is calling Brockville his Saturday night home for the first time in his career.
This weekend the team will focus on Brockville and look to build on their slim point lead over a quality field of DIRTCar Sportsman competitors, that show up every week.
Car owners Kim and Dan Dawdy thank everyone for their support from the returning sponsors and new partners such as DIG Race Shocks and Dirt Outlaw Apparel. They would also like to thank the race fans and look forward to seeing everyone this coming weekend.
