Story By: RYAN DELPH / CONLEY MOTORSPORTS – WHEELERSBURG, OH – The ‘June Jam’ was next on the racing calendar for Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) on Saturday, June 1 at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio.
The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series presided over the single-day shootout and a $5,000 winner’s check was up for grabs. Rod Conley timed in fifth quickest overall during qualifying prior to picking up a heat race triumph. R.J. Conley sported an equally fast racecar, as he laid down the third fastest lap during time trials before also winning his respective heat race.
In the 40-lap main event, both CMI drivers started and finished inside of the top five. The ‘June Jam’ was ultimately deemed official after only 33 circuits due to inclement weather and Rod led the charge for the Conley’s in finishing third behind only victor Hudson O’Neal and runner-up Adam Stricker. His brother R.J. was not far behind, as he drove his #71C machine to a solid fifth place performance. In the latest series point standings, Rod now finds himself second and R.J. currently sits fifth. Conley will both vie for the $5,000 payday next Friday at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio and the $10,000 top prize next Saturday at Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, Kentucky. Both special events next weekend will be sanctioned by the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series.
