Rain Stops June 7 Program at Utica-Rome; Racing Resumes Friday

Story By: CHRIS MOORE / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – On to the next.  Friday night’s (June 7) Wilcox Construction LLC and Clinton Tractor/Ferris Mowers racing program at Utica-Rome Speedway was canceled due to significant rain.

Storms moved over the area around 1 p.m. and remained in the area.

Utica-Rome Speedway officials will work with the A-Verdi Storage Containers CRSA Sprint Cars for a makeup date for the winged warriors.

Racing continues next Friday, June 14 for Tom Cole’s Lexi LLC & Parker Excavating Night at the ‘Home of Heroes.’

The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds will headline the Friday night affair with the Taylor’s Trailers LLC Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders all in action on the half-mile oval.

The All-Star and Junior Slingshots will round out the racing program on the inner oval.

For the June 14 event, all gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated for 6:45 p.m. and racing will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $15 for Adults, $13 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and Kids 11 and under get in FREE.

Pit admission is $40 for Non-Members, $35 for Members, $10 for Kids (ages 6-12), and $2 and for Children 5 and under.
