Time For “Wings & Things” With The SMAC 350 & Limited Super Mod Series Friday At Spencer

Story By: SPENCER SPEEDWAY – WILLIAMSON, NY – The week has finally arrived for “Winged” racecars to blast their way around Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY, as the SMAC 350 Super Modified Series will make their first appearance on the 1/2-mile oval.

A great field of SMAC 350 Super Modifieds is expected to be on hand including local favorites Bobby Holmes of Lockport, NY and Mike Leaty of Williamson, NY.

Leaty is one of the top drivers in Spencer Speedway history.

“It’s going to be cool and something very different for me,” stated Mike Leaty, who is set to drive one of Mike Muldoon’s creations in the event. “We did a little practice with it and I’m looking forward to it. The cars are different and a challenge. It’s going to be very exciting.”

Bobby Holmes has already had success in the cars winning on the prestigious Classic Weekend at Oswego Speedway.

“It’s always great to race near home,” offered Holmes. “These cars are so fun to drive. I’m looking forward to it and it’s going to be a great night at Spencer.”

The Race of Champions Super Stock; Rocket Performance 602 Sportsman Modified Series along with the wild action of the Wilbert’s U-Pull It Four Cylinder and Wilbert’s U-Pull It Super Six Series will also join Friday the card for the Friday, June 14 program at Spencer.

The “Food Truck Frenzy” featuring local food trucks and tastes from the area will also make its return with some unique additions. In addition to standard fare from the Ontario Volunteer Fire Department, there will be BBQ truck joining us as well as an Ice Cream truck along with the Williamson Apple Blossom Festival selling fried dough and more, along with the new addition of a popcorn truck

Open practice takes place this Friday, May 24 for all divisions with gates opening at 4:00 pm and practice running from 5:00 pm until dusk.
