Drake Troutman Takes Jerry Foster Modified To Victory Lane At Hagerstown Speedway

Story By: BEN SHELTON / DRAKE TROUTMAN RACING – HYNDMAN, PA – Drake Troutman recorded his second Modified victory of the season over the weekend with a dominating performance on Saturday night at Hagerstown Speedway aboard the Jerry’s Siding Roofing & Doors / CertainTeed / All About Doors No. 5 Wheeler Fleet Solutions / ABC Supply Co. Inc. Modified.

Despite starting the feature in eighth, Troutman drove into the lead on the sixth circuit and ran off with his third overall win of the season.

“I really love racing these modifieds and I am really happy to get the win tonight,” Troutman said. “Gotta thank Jerry Foster and his son for everything they do for me. It’s a dream come true for me that they let me wheel this thing and the continued support they provide for my late model program.”

Drake Troutman was in attendance for the first portion of Appalachian Mountain Speedweek as he kicked off the weekend on Friday evening at Clinton County Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) for the Sam Ray Memorial.

Leading the majority of the $5,000-to-win main event, Troutman was overtaken on the final lap and was forced to settle for the runner-up spot. He trailed Tyler Emory while Matt Cosner completed the podium.

On Saturday at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, more bad luck plagued Drake as he was slated to start the 35-lap main event from the front-row until mechanical issues prevented him from making a full lap.

Hoping to put the bad luck behind him at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Sunday, Troutman managed a solid Top-5 finish in the $5,000 Super Late Model feature and picked up the victory in the UMP Modified feature. Troutman started eighth in the 20-lap feature and took the top spot on lap 7 as he outran Ray Kable and Glenn Elliot to the checkered flag.

Wrapping up things at Path Valley Speedway Park (Spring Run, Pa.) on Tuesday evening, Troutman started towards the rear of the A-Main and brought back a 15th-place finish.

Troutman now turns his attention to the upcoming Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) doubleheader at Smoky Mountain Speedway. Action kicks off on Friday with a $10,000-to-win prelim before Saturday night’s Mountain Moonshine Classic – offering $50,000 winner’s payday.
