Jordan Ryan Tops Ohio Sprint Speedweek Action At Wayne County Speedway

Story By: BEN SHELTON / MAR MOTORSPORTS – MANSFIELD, OH – In a historic night that saw him pick up the biggest win of his career, Jordan Ryan drove the MAR Motorsports / Joyride Transport / Rod Eddleblute’s Garage No. 25R Glenn Styres Chassis Sprint Car to the 2024 Ohio Sprint Speedweek victory in Monday’s stop at Wayne County Speedway.

The Castalia, Ohio, native led flag-to-flag to secure the $5,000 payday and his second win of the 2024 season for the MAR Motorsports team.

“We’ve been digging here lately and I told the guys earlier today that tonight was going to be our night.” Ryan said in victory lane. “I was catching traffic and was starting to get worried, but I was able to get my wing back after the red and kept my line. Big thanks to TJ, my dad, Matt and everyone on the entire crew for the help. Also gotta thank Glenn Styres who came tonight, he’s been helping us this year and has this car on a rail.”

Back with the 2024 Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Monday after a pair of events on Friday and Saturday, Jordan Ryan joined a stout field of 49 FAST on Dirt competitors at Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio) for the fourth round nine-race miniseries.

After starting the night off with a heat race win, the feature saw Tyler Gunn grab the point on the opening drag but a quick crossover off the second turn earned Ryan the lead. Keeping pace from there, Ryan looked like he was going to have a challenge coming off the final turn from Zane DeVault but would power off the cushion to win by 0.448-seconds and claim the night’s $5,000 prize.

He recorded his second win of the year ahead of Zane Devault, Travis Philo, Cale Thomas, and Darin Naida.

Earlier in the weekend, Ryan followed up a 15th-place finish on Friday at Attica Raceway Park with an early exit from Saturday’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek visit to Fremont Speedway. After a ninth-place result in his heat, Ryan elected to scratch from his B-Main.

Jordan Ryan and the MAR Motorsports team are gearing up to return with the Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Friday at Millstream Speedway (Findlay, Ohio). The eighth round of the tour offers a $5,000 payday with $500-to-start.
