Cameron Smith Charges To First Lincoln Speedway 410 Sprint Victory

Story By: LINCOLN SPEEDWAY – ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – Cameron Smith and the Rick Lefever #75 team have been on a roll since the World of Outlaws visit in May, “Brian’s had the car really good the last month, ever since the Outlaw show we’ve been really good and we’ve been able to put ourselves in the position to win.”

Smith lined up eighth for the start of the 30-lap feature, “The first caution came out and I had the wing to the trunk and was thinking it would be a long race but I started running the top and running harder in turns 1 and 2.” The win was Smith’s first in the 410 sprint car division at Lincoln Speedway and his second career win, with his first coming just a week earlier at Williams Grove Speedway.

Pole-sitter, TJ Greve took the lead at the drop of the green while Tim Glatfelter, Trey Hivner and Kody Hartlaub battled for second. Hivner had second and Hartlaub got by Glatfelter for third. Cameron Smith was using the top to work on Brett Strickler as they battled for fourth.

Jordan Givler spun in turns 1 and 2 and brought out the yellow on lap 8. Greve led Hivner, Hartlaub, Strickler and Smith on the restart. There was a yellow on the restart when Hayden Miller and Tony Jackson got together in turn 4.

Hartlaub got up next to Hivner for second with Smith in tow. Smith dove into turn 3 and got up to second. Hartlaub was right there to challenge him back. Smith pulled away and was solidly in second when Troy Wagaman moved into third.

Last week’s winner, Tyler Ross got into the top five. Smith started closing in on Greve and got by him on the back stretch to take the top spot halfway through the feature. Wagaman was not far behind and got by Greve for second.

Ross moved into fourth and Matt Campbell worked his way up to fifth. Ross continued his charge through the field and got by Greve for third. Smith entered lapped traffic on lap 19 as Wagaman was closing in. Once in lapped traffic Smith was able to pull away from Wagaman again and would go on to take the checkered flag nearly one second ahead of Troy. Campbell crossed the line third and Ross was fourth. Freddie Rahmer completed the top five.

Dylan Yoder Scores Speedweek Win

35 laps – $5,000 to win

Tyler Emory sat on the pole for the 35 lap $5,000 to win Appalachian Mountain Speedweek feature. Emory shot to the lead with Matt Cosner and Dylan Yoder racing side by side for second behind him. Yoder moved into second and Cosner settled for third. Kyle Hardy got by Cosner for third before the yellow came out on lap 4. Emory, the leader, spun in turn 2.

Yoder inherited the lead and the field lined up for a double file restart. Yoder and Hardy raced wheel to wheel for the lead with Yoder on the bottom and Hardy on the top. Yoder used the low line to keep the lead. Jason Covert worked his way into third and found himself challenging Hardy for the runner-up spot.

Dylan started pulling away from the field as Covert continued to work on Hardy for second. Matt Cosner caught up to them and made it a three-car battle for the position. Yoder held a 2.7 second lead over Hardy just as he caught the tail end of the field at the halfway point.

Covert got a nose under Hardy and with a good run into turn 1 he had second coming out of turn 2. Jason started reeling in Yoder as Dylan struggled in heavy lapped traffic. Unfortunately for Covert there were not enough laps left to catch Yoder.

Yoder crossed the line 1.115 seconds ahead of Covert for the win. Hardy was third and Cosner finished fourth. Jeremy Weaver completed the top five.
