Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – SAUBLE BEACH, ONT – Finding his way to the lead quickly off the drop of the green flag, T.J Edwards scored the victory in the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified event at Sauble Speedway on Saturday.
Taking the green flag from the second row, Edwards quickly put himself in the runner-up spot with just four laps on the board. He then caught early race leader Dale Reinhart, passing him for the lead on Lap 7.
From there on, T.J Edwards held off the field on a pair of restarts and drove away to a straightaway advantage en route to picking up the checkered flag in Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC victory lane.
A.J. Emms would rebound from a spin after contact for a runner-up finish for his second straight podium finish. Dale Reinhart kept himself inside the top-three all race long to place third.
The battle for fourth had everyone’s attention over the final 10 laps with Jason Keen and Brad Pearsall going back-and-forth. They spent the final five laps side-by-side before contact coming to the checkered resulted in Pearsall making significant contact with the outside frontstretch wall. Keen was credited with fourth ahead of Pearsall.
Ryan Dick placed sixth, with Steve Trendell in seventh following a pair of spins during the 30-lap feature. Wally Wilson rounded out the field.
Dave Mathers was in attendance, but mechanical woes kept him out of competition for the night.
Bromley Automotive heat wins went to A.J. Emms (x2), Brad Pearsall, and T.J Edwards.
The Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds are back in action at Delaware Speedway on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29 as part of the Canada Day weekend special.
