Outlaw Speedway To Take A Night Off From Racing Friday, June 28th

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – As scheduled, The Outlaw Speedway will be taking a one-week break on Friday night, June 28, 2024.

“The past few years I have been building a few “Nights Off” into the yearly schedule of events, stated Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri. This gives everyone a break away from the racetrack to go and do something else. The drivers, fans and my staff all work extremely hard, and this is an expensive sport. An occasional night off here and there allows everyone to recharge.”

With High School Graduations and parties in full swing the June 28 Night Off is a perfect fit particularly for the local Dundee High School which is located about a mile from the track.

After the aggressive month of April, which was loaded with unique events, some of which were rained out, the track laid dormant on April 26, the first of three Nights Off at the popular Yates County Oval.

When the June 28 closure is completed, it will be full speed ahead going into July 5, 2024, with the traditional $20,000 Fireworks Extravaganza which is perhaps the largest Fireworks program in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.

On the card it will be a Regular Super 5 Show with all the weekly classes.

Outlaw will then bounce right back with the second and final Thursday Night Thunder Program of 2024 with the running of the Short Track Super Series as part of the Annual Dave Machuga Memorial on July 11, 2024.

The Mighty Modifieds will run a Special Ultimate Outlaw, $7,078.78 to win feature where all the top teams in the northeast will converge.

Also, on the card there will be a 602 Crate Sportsman event paying the winner $2,078.78.

The Empire Street Stock Touring Division will also be a part of the July 11 Thursday Night Thunder with the winner pocketing $1778.78.

Rounding out the program will be the 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks will a winner share of $1078.78.

The Thursday Night Thunder Show will air live on Flo Racing.

All drivers will receive 30 show up points going towards the 2024 points paying season.

July 19 will find the Annual Christmas in July only this year with a twist as it will be a $5 Pack the Track Fan Appreciation, Driver Autograph Night.

As part of Christmas in July the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds will have their King of the Ring, one of one single elimination battle.

Outlaw Speedway will wrap up July with the Annual Summer Nationals on Friday, July 26.

Named in Memory of the late Steve Kent, the Summer Nationals features a mixture of Modifieds, ESS 360 Sprints as well as full blown ULMS Super Late Models.

Joining the Big 3 Divisions will be the Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Sportsman, Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks and the SCDRA Front Wheel Drive 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks.

For the SCDRA Front Wheel Drive Touring Series this will be the second attempt as the originally scheduled event in April was rained out.

“This is a huge event, claimed Siri. Where else in this region can you find Modifieds, 360 Sprints and Super Late Models all competing on the same night at the same venue?”
