Outlaw Speedway Loses June 21st Event To Mother Nature

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – For the second time during the Point Paying Season dating back to early May of this year, Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri had to pull the plug on a regularly scheduled Friday night of action.

“When I got up on Friday morning, I immediately looked at the weather and then I had a conversation with CRSA promoter, Mike Emhoff and we both agreed that it did not look good for racing as numerous different forecasts showed late afternoon and early evening thunderstorms. With many of the CRSA 305 Sprint teams traveling long distances we decided to pull the plug early and save not only the Sprint Teams, but also my weekly regulars any unnecessary travel.” That according to Bossman, Tyler Siri.

For the CRSA 305 Sprints it has been a frustrating season thus far as the northeast touring group has had more than their share of washed-out events in 2024.

However, Siri and Emhoff were able to find common ground as the series will be rescheduled for Outlaw Speedway on Friday, August 16, 2024.

The track will also lay silent next Friday, June 28, 2024, which was a built in Night Off, thus the next event will go off on Friday, July 5 with the tracks traditional $20,000 Fireworks Extravaganza which is perhaps the largest Fireworks program in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.

“We always get a huge turnout for our Fireworks Show,” stated Siri. Ever since I bought the track nine years ago, we have continued to build our Fireworks Extravaganza into an event that is well attended. It brings in a lot of fresh faces that might not normally come to the track, but when they get here and are treated to some impressive race action on a smooth and fast surface they want to come back for more.”

As part of the July 5 show it will be a regular Super 5 Show featuring the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Sportsman, Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks, Addison, Corning, Hornell and Wellsville NAPA Hobby Stocks along with the Winner’s Circle Deli 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks.

Celebrating sixty-seven years of great dirt track race action the Outlaw Speedway is located on Rt. 14a in Dundee, NY right in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.

Just a short drive from Penn Yan, Geneva, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Watkins Glen, Corning/Elmira and Bath/Hammondsport.
