Noteworthy:
● Boes’ overall finish today was his best since his third-place result in the second race of the TA2 weekend doubleheader on the streets of downtown Detroit in June 2023.
● M1Racecars driver Austin Green of Peterson Racing returned to TA2 Series competition for the first time since this year’s season-opener at Sebring (Fla.) International Raceway and promptly qualified his No. 89 Ford Mustang on the pole for today’s race. Damage from a midrace restart incident forced the team to retire his car on lap 20.

“Overall, it was a good, solid weekend. We were top-five in all the sessions before qualifying. I learned that my mindset in qualifying, where I’m usually so focused on making sure I don’t mess up, needs to shift more toward making sure I push some limits a little bit further. So we didn’t qualify as well as we tested and practiced. But in the race, there was a lot of moving around at the start and I got a little bit held up and lost maybe three spots, which I wasn’t super happy with. But I started working, kept my head down, made up spots as best I could, and got by everybody who had gotten by me at the start. And then I just worked my way up as much as I could and ended up with a very solid and respectable finish. Hats off to these TeamSLR guys for giving me the best car I’ve ever had here at Mid-Ohio.”

Round eight of the 2024 Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series takes place next weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The three-day Road America SpeedTour weekend kicks off with a pair of TA2 test sessions the afternoon of Thursday, June 27, at noon and 3:40 p.m. CDT. Official TA2 practice is slated for 10:20 a.m. Friday, June 28, followed by qualifying at 3:30 p.m. The 25-lap, 75-minute TA2 race around the 4.048-mile, 14-turn road course is set for 12:40 p.m. Saturday, June 29, with series partner MAVTV providing live television coverage augmented via live video stream on the Trans Am channel on YouTube.
