Story By: DAVE SEAY / ULTIMATE HEART OF AMERICAN SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES – RICHMOND, KY – What might be the most anticipated doubleheader weekend of the 2024 season is set for July 5 – 6, 2024, as the Heart of America Ultimate Super Late Model Series will be traveling to Thunder Mountain Speedway located in Rockholds, KY on Friday July 5th for their very first super late model race paying $5,000 to win, $500 to start and Rockcastle Speedway located in Mount Vernon, KY on Saturday July 6th for “The Rock’s” biggest race of the season, the 5th Annual Tommy Lanham Memorial paying $7,500 to win, and $600 to start.
Each event will feature multiple awards that will be presented, the Penske Racing Shocks Fast Time Award, Stakt Products Pole Award, Keizer Racing Wheels Hard Charger Award, and the ATC Bolts and Fasteners B Main Winner Award. There will be also a Hoosier Racing Tire giveaway at each event.
On Friday, July 5th Thunder Mountain Speedway will host its first ever super late model race when the stars and cars of the Heart of America Ultimate Super Late Model Series make their debut in a $5000 to win event. Five of the track’s weekly divisions, the 604 Crate Late Models, Open Mods, Hobby Stocks, FWD, and Jr FWD will also be in action. Pit gates are set to open at 12:00 PM. Grandstand gates are set to open at 4:00 PM, Hot Laps at 6:30 Pm, and racing at 7:30 PM.
On Saturday July 6th, not only will there be Fireworks in the air but also on the track as Rockcastle Speedway will host the Heart of America Ultimate Super Late Model Series for the 5th Annual Tommy Lanham Memorial, their biggest event of the season. The $7,500 to win event will have some of the best super late model competitors in the region in attendance. Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics will also be in action. Pit gates are set to open at 3:00 PM. Grandstand gates are set to open at 5:00 PM. Driver’s meeting is set for 6:00 PM with hot laps/qualifying to follow.
