Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OSCAAR – LONDON, ONT – The fans may have waited a day extra to see the show, but they were treated to an awesome battle at the front with Tyler Hawn picking up the checkered flag in the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rod feature.
Hawn found himself at the front of the field once again, taking advantage of contact ahead of him to take the lead with five laps to go. He then held off a challenge from Dalen Martin to pick up the checkered flag in McColl Racing Enterprises victory lane. It marked a sweep of OSCAAR Nationals presented by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop as he won on Friday night as well.
The consistency continued for Rob Bromley with a runner-up, while Matt Hopkins scored his second top-five of 2024 with a third. Kenny McNicol and Steve McCaw were battling for the lead on Lap 20, when contact resulted in both drivers going for a spin. They rebounded nicely to place fourth and fifth, respectively.
Jordan Morris was sixth ahead of Steve Book, David Rockwood, Barry Watson, and Ryan Cowan.
Connor Ellis put together a solid run en route to 11th in front of Dave Evison Sr. and Steve Ecker. Contact over the final five laps dropped to Dalen Martin to 14th ahead of Hailey McNicol, Thomas Wunsch, and Jeremy McLean. Cole Weber rounded out the field after failing to complete a lap.
Bromley Automotive heat wins went to Steve Book and Kenny McNicol Jr.
Tyler Hawn currently leads the point standings following four races by 10 points over Rob Bromley. The top-five are seperated by 44 points.
The next race for the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rods takes place at Full Throttle Motor Speedway on July 13, 2024. It is Christmas in July night, which will feature an on-track driver autograph session.
