Thursday’s Gopher 50 Postponement Sets Up Double Feature Friday; Big Money Saturday

Story By: MATT SKIPPER / WORLD OF OUTLAWS – SPRING VALLEY, MN – Despite the best efforts of Deer Creek Speedway track crew to get the facility ready for proper and safe racing conditions after heavy afternoon showers, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model and track officials postponed night one of the NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 to Friday.

This sets up a double program on Friday, which will still see drivers still collect points from both programs to lock the top-16 point earners into Saturday’s $50,000-to-win main event.

The rest of the field will move to Saturday’s Last Chance Showdowns to give drivers one last chance to clinch a spot in Saturday’s 75-lap Feature. Those who do not transfer will enter a $3,000-to-win non-qualifier race on Saturday night.

Friday’s grandstands will open at 10:30 a.m. (CT), with Hot Laps starting at 12:30 p.m. After the conclusion of the first Feature, the grandstands and pits will be swept with the second program to follow.

If you bought a ticket to Thursday’s program, it will be good for Friday. If you have a ticket for only Friday’s event, you will have to buy a ticket to watch the Thursday makeup event.

After Friday’s Features, the night will continue with a concert by country music artist Dylan Scott at the track.

New Berlin, IL driver Brandon Sheppard currently leads the Series standings with Mooresville, NC sophomore driver Nick Hoffman trailing him by 20 points leading into the two events.
