Story By: BEN SHELTON / BERNHEISEL RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Bryan Bernheisel enjoyed a triumphant return to Victory Lane on Friday night as he captured his first win of the 2024 season at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway aboard his Bernheisel Race Components / Pioneer Pole Buildings No. 119 Tools Etc. / Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips / Lazer Chassis Late Model.
The Jonestown, Pa., native soared to the front from the sixth-starting position by lap 12 and ran away with the commanding 25-lap victory.
“The way the track was rubbered, I knew it would be tough coming from sixth.” Bernheisel said. “We’ve been struggling this season and it feels great to finally get a win. Brandon and the guys have been working hard all year, changing stuff, trying different things to get us better. We had a really good car tonight.”
Bryan Bernheisel kicked off his weekend with a short trip to Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) on Friday to pilot his Lazer Chassis No. 119 Late Model.
Following an impressive showing in his heat race that saw him drive from ninth-to-fourth, Bernheisel started the feature in sixth and worked his way to the front following a lap-12 caution. He paced the remainder of the 25-lapper to secure his first win of the season, which came ahead of Clinton Herson, Justin Weaver, Jakob Piper, and Matt Sponaugle.
With Jim joining Bryan on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Bryan raced into the $4,000-to-win A-Main with a runner-up heat showing while Jim crossed the line in fifth in his heat. Jim rolled to a consistent 14th-place finish in the 25-lap affair while Bryan faded to seventh at the checkers.
