Story By: LINCOLN SPEEDWAY – ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – Aaron Bollinger rolled the bottom of the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday night to score his second career 410 victory. Saturday’s win came 1,134 days after his first triumph which was on June 5, 2021 at Lincoln Speedway. The Fallen Firefighters / “Guise-Little Memorial” paid $6,000 to win along with high payouts throughout the field and additional bonus money.
Pole-sitter Kody Hartlaub paced the field along side Chad Trout for the start of the 36-lap feature. Hartlaub and Trout battled into turn 1 with Hartlaub coming out with the lead. Freddie Rahmer made his way from sixth to third, getting a solid start. Rahmer was closing in on Trout and pulled a slider in turns 1 and 2 and took second on lap 6. Matt Campbell got by Trout on the next lap to take third. Rahmer reeled in Hartlaub as they closed in on the tail end of the field. Rahmer took the lead from Hartlaub at the line on lap 8 with lapped traffic coming into play right away. Campbell wasn’t far behind and took second from Kody.
Devon Borden sat sideways in turn 2 bringing out the caution on lap 9. Rahmer led Campbell, Hartlaub, Trout and Troy Wagaman on the restart. Rahmer had a solid restart as Hartlaub, Trout and Wagaman battled for position. Wagaman was on the move and got by Trout and Hartlaub to get into third. That left Hartlaub and Trout to fend off Aaron Bollinger.
After another caution, Rahmer got another good restart and Bollinger moved into fourth after getting by both Trout and Hartlaub coming off turn 2. As Wagaman and Campbell battled for second the yellow came out again for Michael Millard who sat in the bottom of turns 3 and 4.
Wagaman looked to the bottom to get under Campbell on the restart but did not make the pass. Bollinger was right there to challenge Wagaman for third. Wagaman moved down to block Bollinger’s line.
Rahmer caught lapped traffic on lap 23 which helped Campbell reel in Rahmer. Campbell got into the back of a slower car but still held on to second. The caution came out for the slower car of Travis Scott. This time Campbell got a better restart and the bottom was working for him as Rahmer stuck to the top. Bollinger also found the bottom and was reeling in both of the leaders. Rahmer was able to keep his momentum going around the top but Campbell was working the bottom and the two were wheel to wheel for the lead coming out turn 2 when the caution came out on lap 31, putting a halt to an epic battle.
Rahmer, Campbell, Bollinger, Wagaman and Hartlaub were the top five for the restart with five laps to go. Rahmer went to the bottom on the restart to block Campbell. Bollinger got under Campbell for second and was on Rahmer’s tail as the laps wound down. Bollinger took the lead with two laps to go.
Bollinger rolled the bottom and got to the line 1.908 seconds ahead of Rahmer for the win. Campbell was third and Wagaman finished fourth. Tyler Ross, the hard charger of the race, drove from his 12th starting spot to finish fifth.
Frankie Herr Wins 358 Sprint Feature
Pole-sitter, Jude Siegel led the field into turn 1 with Matt Findley in second and Logan Rumsey and Frankie Herr battling for third. Steve Owings joined the battle as there was melee in turns 1 and 2 bringing out the caution.
Siegel, Findley, Herr, Owings and Doug Hammaker made up the top five for the restart. Hammaker looked under Owings for fourth on the restart with Owings holding onto the spot and putting pressure on Herr for third. Herr got by Findley for second and Hammaker moved into fourth. Doug then kept his charge to the front going and got by Findley for third.
The red came out when Bryn Gohn flipped in turn 3. Owings got by Findley for fourth on the restart and Siegel and Herr raced wheel to wheel for the lead coming off turn 4. Herr took the lead on lap 6 and Hammaker moved into second.
Hammaker was running the top to reel in Herr when the yellow came out on lap 10. Hammaker looked to the top on the restart but Herr held the lead using the bottom of the track. Hammaker tried the low line in turns 1 and 2, but Herr still held on to the top spot.
Herr held on to become the sixth different winner in the six 358 sprint car features this season. Hammaker was second, Siegel finished third and Owings crossed the line fourth. Findley completed the top five.
